How do I get p2p through my college proxy? Before you say anything I don't know anything about ports, tunneling, torrents, etc. Please start from the start! I need to know step by step as most internet proxy sites assume some level of knowledge, whereas I know nothing. It's a high speed unsecured wireless connection through a proxy with all P2P and torrents blocked. I'm using a pretty new desktop with a wireless card separately installed. No ethics please, I'll be downloading stuff at night when the bandwith isn't being used. Nobody's business what I'm downloading either.

What is the best p2p networking program out there that is free? What is the very best p2p networking program out there that is free? I already have Limewire, but its getting quite old. I have searched and searched, and I download the program and then at the very end, they want me to pay for it before I can use it. WTF? I just want to share some movies and music... thats it. Does anyone out there know???? Thanks a billion
How do I get around blocks to P2P and torrents? The wifi I'm on blocks P2P programs and the downloading of torrents. There are things from both I would like to get. I've tried proxy downloading of torrents, but even if I get the tracker I can't actually download the file. I'm mainly wondering if there is a way I can have the torrent downloaded on a remote server then download the file strait to my computer. So if there is any way to download torrent files without actually using a tracker, etc then that'd be cool. I don't have another server to use to make any of this happen, so if that's the way to go I'll also need to know a web server somewhere that would offer this sort of service. I have a feeling that this just isn't possible, but if it is then that would be awesome. The wifi I'm on blocks P2P programs and the downloading of torrents. Get past the fact that illegal downloads are possible through torrents and P2P. There are also legal things that are very convienent to download through torrents. That's mainly what I'm looking for.

Will the legal P2P service I suggest ever work in the reality? I want to ask this question to all of you. Also, do you think this idea is going to be finished as my imagination?

Is limewire the only P2P that will run on linux? I'm running Ubuntu 10, I just got it but now my limewire doesn't work. The screen just stays gray. On the lime wire page it says that it might be because of my video card or my refresh rate is set to high. Ether way it worked before and doesn't now. I was wondering if their were any other good P2P s that worked as well as lime wire for Ubuntu. Thank you.

why there is a connection loss when using the p2p software? I asked like that because I encountered the connection loss problem only during using the p2p software. I thought they might be related. Plus, I could also lose connection when just my friends use a p2p software on their computers in the same Ethernet. Additional informatio: I am using a router to form a wired Ethernet with connection to a cable modem to get access to the Internet. We all using laptops.
How can P2P be a copyright infringement? Music downloaded by P2P bears very little resemblance to the music that is sold in record shops. The quality of music on a shop bought CD is usually much better, the production and presentation material, sleeve, liner notes, lyrics, and so on are all included in the commercial CD whereas the downloaded version is nothing but a cheap, white, blank disc with marker ink.notations. Most often, downloaded tracks are marred, distorted, or end suddenly. They are a very poor version of the commercial material. Don't record companies understand that these downloaded versions simply whet the appetite of consumers to actually purchase the real thing from the shop if they like it and agree to support the artists and recording companies, publishers and associated lapdogs in the decadent lifestyles of their choice?

I have to have a UDP port and a TCP port open for my P2P. Any way to secure these? I have to have a UDP port and a TCP port open for peer-to-peer. My P2P client won't connect without these open in WinXP internal firewall (I don't want to use an external firewall - they don't work with P2P in my experience). Is there any way to make these ports more secure? Shields Up reports they are closed, but respond to port probes... Thanks.
